Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 2 Chapter 5 Text 109
yat tāta tāsām api dhairya-moṣakaṁ
yā vai kula-strī-kula-pūjitāṅghrayaḥ
rūpeṇa śīlena guṇena karmaṇā
śraiṣṭhyaṁ gatā hanta mahā-śriyo ’pi yāḥ
TRANSLATION
My dear boy, in beauty, character, virtues, and behavior the women of Vraja excelled even the supreme goddess of fortune. All women of respectable families worshiped their feet. Yet even so, Kṛṣṇa’s beauty robbed the women of Vraja of their sobriety.
