TRANSLATION
Thus during two seasons — the rainy season and autumn — I had the opportunity to hear these great-souled sages constantly chant the unadulterated glories of the Lord Hari. As the flow of my devotional service began, the coverings of the modes of passion and ignorance vanished.

TRANSLATION
O Vyasadeva, in that association and by the mercy of those great Vedantists, I could hear them describe the attractive activities of Lord Krsna And thus listening attentively, my taste for hearing of the Personality of Godhead increased at every step.

TRANSLATION
Although they were impartial by nature, those followers of the Vedanta blessed me with their causeless mercy. As far as I was concerned, I was self-controlled and had no attachment for sports, even though I was a boy. In addition, I was not naughty, and I did not speak more than required.

Srila Dhanurdhara Swami spent Gaura Purnima (the appearance day of Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu) this year with the wonderful devotees in Albany, New York. Along with Srila Varsana Swami, Dhanurdhara Maharaja spoke on Madhya section of Sri Vrindavana dasa Thakura’s Caitanya Bhagavata.
Both maharajas spoke in the morning and in the evening. This is the evening class (Thanks to Tushar for the recording) and we hope to have the morning class up soon.

TRANSLATION
O muni, in the last millennium I was born as the son of a certain maidservant engaged in the service of brahmanas who were following the principles of Vedanta. When they were living together during the four months of the rainy season, I was engaged in their personal service.

Bhakti Sandarbha Anuccheda 235

In today’s class, Srila Dhanurdhara Swami’s begins with Bhakti Sandarbha. The Bhakti Sandarbha is the fifth part of the Sad Sandarbha (six sandarbhas) which was originally started by Srila Gopal Bhatta Gosvami but then expanded upon and completed by Srila Jiva Gosvami.
The Sad Sandarbha’s six parts are as follows.

Tattva Sandarbha – Wherein the different aspects of tattva or truth are explained. It concludes the highest tattva is the Bhagavata Purana, also known as the Srimad Bhagavatam.
Bhagavata Sandarbha – Wherein the distinction of the brahman (impersonal), the paratamta (internal) and the bhagavata (fully personal) aspects of God is made and establishes the bhagavata manifestation as the highest.
Paramatma Sandarbha – Wherein the paramatma or supersoul is discussed. The paramatma is the manifestation of God residing in every living entity’s heart.
Krishna Sandarbha – Wherein Krishna is established with scriptural reference as being the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Bhakti Sandarbha – Wherein bhakti or devotional process to Krishna is explained.
Priti Sandarbha – Wherein prema bhakti is established as the highest form of liberation.

Srila Dhanurhdara Swami starts the class with Anuccheda 235 where the concept of saranagata, surrender, is explained.
