Thank you for attending the first class on Yoga Sutras. As I teach it, ideas will develop how best to present it in this phone conference medium and with the varied audience of listeners. One Idea I got already is to refine my personal notes after the class and send them to you. Also I will send before the class a basic summary of the subjects I will speak on. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – An Introduction
In this evening’s class, Srila Dhanurdhara Swami gives an introduction to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Maharaja is basing his class on an advanced copy of a new translation of the Yoga Sutras by Edwin Bryant, professor of Hinduism at Rutgers University. Publication is expected later this spring by Farrar Straus & Giroux, a division of Macmillan.
